Virginia Paris, 55, recently filed for a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, Joseph Hetzel. The 52-year-old had previously served jail time for charges related to a domestic incident.
However, while the order had been granted, it had not yet been served.
Last Friday, when leaving work in Solvang, California, Paris was abducted by the man.
According to KTLA, Hetzel, who served time for using explosive devices with the intent to terrorize, felony vandalism, and criminal threats, was last seen driving in Paris’s black 2015 Chrysler 200 with California plate number 7NGE514.
After days of tracking down the pair, Paris has been successfully rescued.

Before her rescue, surveillance picked up footage of the pair in multiple states. On Monday, they were spotted checking out of a hotel in Valle, Arizona, near Flagstaff.
Witness testimonies indicate that Paris was being held against her will. Tips led officials to follow Paris and Hetzel to Las Vegas, where she was later rescued.
An incident in Goodyear, Arizona, on Sunday may have been the key to finding Paris.
During a trip to a Goodyear Starbucks, Paris cleverly gave her true name when she placed her drink order. When she walked back from the bathroom she proceeded to tell another customer that she “needed help.”Screenshot/ABC 7
When Hetzel witnessed the interaction, sheriff officials reported that:
Hetzel allegedly grabbed Paris and dragged [her] out of the store. He kicked her into the car and fled at high speeds.
As the car drove away, Paris threw her car registration information out of the door, investigators said. It was recovered by Goodyear police officers.
Tuesday morning, Paris was found safe and rescued by a security team.Screenshot/ABC 7
Hetzel, considered dangerous and potentially armed, got away and is reportedly still driving Paris’s vehicle. If spotted, members of the public are warned not to approach the man, but to call 911. He is described as a white male with brown hair and green eyes. He is around six feet two inches tall and weighs around 195 pounds, according to KTLA.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Anonymous Tip-Line at 805-681-4171 or to report it on their website.
