How would you feel if something you lost 11 years ago was suddenly returned to you?
Take that and multiply it by ten to understand the emotions felt by Zuly Schober the moment she was reunited with her wedding ring.
Inside Edition reports that one day, eleven years ago, when the mom and her family returned home from Huntington Beach in California, she noticed her ring was missing.
“It was tears. It was a bad, bad day.”
Over a decade later, Schober came across an unexpected post about a ring on a local Facebook page. A mom wrote that her daughter had discovered a ring at the beach and asked for the owner to direct message her.
Devyn Greer, who found the ring, said:
“I was walking back from the water and I saw something pretty shiny. I really didn’t know what to do, being 15, finding a ring that big.”
Despite her doubts, Schober gave it a shot and sent Greer’s mom with a photo of the ring on her hand at her wedding.
“What I thought was, ‘What do I have to lose?’ It’s either gonna be my ring — which would be amazing — or it’s not…. I was excited, I was nervous, I was laughing like a crazy person.”
To Schober’s surprise, the wedding ring was hers:
“I was excited, I was nervous, I was laughing like a crazy person.”
In response, Schober’s husband, Patrick, said:
“I just assumed we would not see that ring again.”
Once reunited with the ring, Schober thanked Devyn, who responded by telling her that she “deserved it.”
