Television lawyer Loredana Nesci found love with boyfriend Robert Reagan over seven years ago. The Sundance network star and her love were known to friends as “The Bickersons” who often had a quippy back-and-forth, though none of it seemed violent.
But that all came to a screeching halt after one deadly argument on July 22, 2015. According to court testimony obtained by People, Reagan claimed the pair had broken out into a quarrel after a sexual encounter earlier that day. The duo began hurling verbal insults at one another, and suddenly, he said, it turned physically violent.
Reagan stated he was punched by the television star, and he subsequently went into the bathroom. When he re-emerged, Nesci allegedly came at him with a hunting knife.
The boyfriend added that during the physical scuffle, the reality star fell onto her knife and wounded herself, ultimately leading to her death.
Los Angeles County prosecutor Allyson Ostrowski told People a different story. Ostrowski countered that the two were on the cusp of a breakup when Reagan decided to murder his girlfriend instead of deal with “an expensive and bitter custody battle” over the couple’s 5-year-old son, Rocco.
Ostrowski described to the jury the vicious and meticulous way she believes Reagan murdered Nesci, stating that he “gutted” the “Loredana, Esq.” star with a “Rambo-style” hunting knife. According to the Daily Breeze, Nesci was found by investigators with a seven-inch laceration “from her breast line to her belly button,” leaving her insides looking like “Swiss cheese.”
Prosecutors believed Reagan murdered Nesci early in the morning — around 3 a.m. — and waited five hours until he called the authorities.
Reagan insisted he did everything in his power to help what he claims to be a “tragic accident:”
“I turned her over. Her eyes were open and her mouth was open. Her stomach was wide open and her intestines were hanging out … I punched on her chest and I tried to blow in her mouth. … She was dead.”
But it looks like the court didn’t buy Reagan’s claims. After three days of deliberation, the jury found the 53-year-old Reagan guilty of second-degree murder Friday for fatally stabbing Nesci in her in Redondo Beach, California, home. He faces 16 years to life in a state prison.

And while they can never get her back, Ostrowski believes that justice was served, expressing gratitude for the jury, adding, “I am glad she can rest in peace.”
