Carolina Panthers wide receiver, Torrey Smith, spent some quality time with his sons over the weekend casting their fishing line from a boat.
The father of three shared an Instagram photo of his oldest son, Torrey Jr., holding up a perch on June 30.
The proud dad wrote:
TJ caught the biggest perch. We kept about 40 of them and fried them bad boys up! When I retire I’ll be perch and rock fishing in the Chesapeake Bay. A fishing boat will be my retirement gift
Furthermore, Chanel Smith, Torrey’s wife, commented on the post to add more about their son’s big catch.
The mother of three wrote:
He did not forget to tell everyone and their mom about it too.
In addition, Torrey also shared a photo of his younger son Kam holding up his catch of the day as well.
The proud dad captioned the post:
Kam caught a couple of fish too.
Smith paired his caption with the hashtag, “Take a kid fishing.”
As Very Well Family reports, there are several ways dads can strengthen their relationships with their sons. For example, they can develop common interests, spend quality time together, and communicate.
And fishing is described as the perfect past time to help a father spend quality time with their kids and strengthen their communication with them.
And fishing is one way Smith seems to be doing those things with his young sons. However, other effective activities can include watching a game or sporting event together or taking a road trip.
