“Teen Mom 2’s” Javi Marroquin and Kailyn Lowry have had their fair share of drama. The two share a son, three years of marriage, and a quite public break-up.

Since their tumultuous split, Marroquin began dating Briana DeJesus — another mother on the MTV reality show — and suffice it to say, DeJesus and Lowry won’t be braiding each other’s hair anytime soon. As Dearly previously reported, the former couple was even going after each other publicly on social media.

However, the two parents, Lowry and Marroquin, seem to be singing a different tune lately. People reports that on Friday Marroquin officially apologized to the mother of his child, seemingly for that reason— he has to raise a child with Lowry for the rest of his life:

And the apology came just a week after Marroquin made a guest appearance on Lowry’s podcast. People reports that during the show, Lowry asked him if he and DeJesus had called their relationship quits. He replied:

“As of right now it is. I don’t know what the future holds. There is a lot we have to discuss and talk about before we make any other decisions.”

And that set DeJesus off…

She responded with a series of now-deleted tweets that read, in part:

Don’t say u don’t know what the future holds to someone but in my msgs saying u wanna marry me. I don’t do that fake — say its about the kids but in reality u only care about ur feelings and not anyone elses… including ur kids.

And the podcast closed with one important message from Lowry. After Marroquin said he’d like for the three of them to be able to get along, Lowry said “it would never happen”:

“We would never get along. You allowed her to disrespect me to my face, also on camera, also in text messages. When I said what I had to say in a nice way, you defended her and not me.”

She ended the conversation by reminding him about the one difference between her and DeJesus, saying “we raise a son together, you don’t raise a son with her.”
