“Teen Mom 2” star Kailyn Lowry responds to criticism after revealing she did not vaccinate her 18-month-old son who she shares with ex Chris Lopex.

On Thursday the 22-year-old mother of three opened up about her decision to stop vaccinating her children on her “Coffee Convos” podcast.

During the episode, she told co-host, Lindsie Chrisley, that she no longer believes that vaccines are necessary after doing her research and Lux did not get his immunization shots.

Lowry explained:

“Lux is 18 months, and he is not vaccinated.

He hasn’t really ever been sick, and for me, I think the more research that I do and the more educated I’ve become, (I’m thinking) just don’t vaccinate him.”

During the controversial topic of conversation, the MTV star also mentioned that she is not advising other parents to not vaccinate their own children.

Lowry said of her 8-year-old son with ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera:

“I don’t want to lose listeners because of my opinion — but, I did vaccinate Isaac, because to me, I didn’t know any better, and I gave — I let them vaccinate him with whatever they basically said that he needed. And I feel like I was ignorant, and didn’t do research, and didn’t know any better.”

The reality star went on to say that with her second son with ex-husband Javi Marroquin she started to talk to other moms about vaccinating 4-year-old Lincoln and watched documentaries on Netflix. She recalled:

“With Lincoln, I knew a little bit more and I started to research more and that’s when — I think — the conversation about vaccination started to really go on with me and my friends who became moms, and there were documentaries on Netflix and all kinds of news that I would try to look into.

Lincoln did not get all of his vaccines; I definitely picked and chose which ones I felt like were necessary, and he did not get them all at once.”

Lowry said she picked “one or two vaccines” she felt were necessary. Needless to say, fellow moms came down hard on the reality star with harsh judgments. As reported by Us Weekly, one Twitter user wrote:

Did she just say she slowly decided not to vaccinate her children because her new mom friends and documentaries on Netflix… I can’t. There’s… nope I just won’t.

Another added:

Oh I missed the part where you have a medical degree?

After receiving backlash Lowry stood by her comments and defended her decision to not vaccinate her children. She addressed the controversial statements during an interview with InTouch Weekly. On Friday the celebrity mom said:

“I guess the only thing I can really say and continue to stand for is to parent how it’s best for your child and family.

People don’t love everything I do, but I don’t shove my beliefs down anyone else’s throat. I know what’s best for my kids, and other parents know what’s best for theirs.”

As previously reported by Dearly, parents are opting out of vaccines despite concerns from major health organizations. According to a 2019 World Health Organization report, “vaccine hesitancy” could be a “threat to global health.”

What do think about Lowry joining the anti-vaccination movement?

She is right it is her choice! God help anyone around her children if they do get sick from any of the diseases these vaccines prevent! No matter what she is their mother & she decides how to give them medical help!

Vaccines are drugs; all drugs have side effects. The side effects from vaccines are rare, however. I think that for the most part, the benefits of vaccines vastly outweigh the risks.

Thanks for the miss-informed parents who choose to Not Vaccinate the children, the measles, a diseases that just a few years ago was cleared out of the US is back and spreading, this is a very deadly disease and is spreading, read this article to find out how bad this has gotten.

Washington declared a public health emergency over measles. Thank vaccine-refusing parents.

Thanks for the idiots that are allowing Illegal Imagration to take place, Measels are hitting with a vengence, may any deaths sit on the governemt personel and the parents be held accountable for any deaths from this disease as the sit before the final judgement.

Why would you even have to worry about measles if YOUR child is vaccinated? Let the mother of the children decide whether or not to vaccinate. Her children, her choice! That is what you crazies say about abortion. Their body their choice, right? Because of abortion, mothers can now murder their babies up to birth with the new law that was passed in New York! That is something people should be getting upset over. The mother who isn’t vaccinating is just trying to protect her baby, leave her alone! The biggest reason these diseases are making a comeback is because we have sick illegals sneaking over the border with TB, measles, chicken pox, and other diseases! The CDC has warned about what they are bringing over, and it falls on deaf ears!

The first measles shot is given at age 1 and the second not until years later so there is a time they are not fully protected. The less people that have the disease the less risk to everyone. It’s called herd immunity. All the vaccinated people are the reason why measles is so rare now where it used to be so common. So she should thank them as the reason why her kids are unlikely to get it but the more people that stop vaccinating the more cases of the disease we will see.

And if the illegals really are the reason (it’s more complicated than that) then it’s because they aren’t vaccinated so again, vaccination prevents disease

How many times does she need to have influenza or various other diseases preventable by vaccines?

By the way, my child was injured from a vaccine, and will now never be ale to live on his own. He will remain mentally 5 years old for the rest of his life! He is an only child with nobody to take care of him when mom and dad die! Let that sink in!

I can’t believe there are people in this day and age that don’t vaccinate when they have all the
Vaccines available , they say they are educated they should have been around in the 1950’s like
I was when there was no polio vaccine and my classmates were getting polio it was terrible ,my
mom hung garlic around my neck hoping it would keep the polio away from me fortunately I didn’t
get but as soon as the vaccine came out we had it and were very grateful ,I know there are some
Children that react to the vaccines but for every one it saves a million ?

I think it is so irresponsible to NOT vaccinate your children!! It’s one thing if it only affects your kids, but when it can affect mine, we have a HUGE problem. Get off Netflix and actually educate yourself!!
