A woman on the run for attempting to poison her baby niece with crushed painkillers was found and sentenced after pleading guilty to attempted murder.

As previously reported by Dearly, Sarai Rodriguez-Miranda, 19, schemed to kill her brother’s 11-week-old daughter by adding a combination of crushed acetaminophen, caffeine, and aspirin to a bottle of breast milk.

Her sibling, his fiancee, and their child were temporarily staying with Rodriguez-Miranda’s mother and wanted to stay longer.

The 19-year-old was upset and attempted to murder his baby in January 2017.

The teen sent texts to her boyfriend, Sir Marshall S. Snyder III, 23. According to court documents, Rodriguez-Miranda wrote on Jan. 12 2017:

I’m gonna crush up some of these pills since she decided they can stay longer and kill their baby.

He responds by texting:

Look up how many mg can kill a baby.

On Tuesday Snyder was sentenced to 15 years in prison on one count of felony aggravated battery for plotting with his girlfriend, reports the Indy Star.

Rodriguez-Miranda was sentenced to 25 years in prison in March.

The Journal Gazette reports, that the child was uninjured and never given the bottle. Court documents said, Rodriguez-Miranda texted Synder:

Why didn’t that baby die dude thats dumb. They definitely threw it out.

After the failed attempted murder Snyder helped his girlfriend escape to live with his father in Michigan. The two suspects were found and arrested.

The child’s mother told WANE-TV after Friday’s hearing she’s “just glad this is over.”
