On September 12, at 3:27 p.m., Lindsay Hayward, star of TLC’s “My Giant Life,” welcomed her first child into the world.

Her son, Liam Maddox Hayward, was born weighing 11 pounds, 7 ounces and measuring 21.5 inches long. Lindsay joked that her son had inherited her “thunder thighs.”

The newborn had to spend his first five days of life in the neonatal intensive care unit. Lindsay explained:

My son might resemble a little sumo wrestler, but he’s got some fluid in his lungs we’re patiently waiting for him to clear, which is common with cesarean birth. […] I can’t wait until he’s healthy enough to come home with his mommy and nana, but that’s why he’s down here with the lovely nurses and doctors of NICU.

Lindsay and Liam were discharged from the hospital late Sunday night, just in time for them to watch the season premiere of “My Giant Life” together.

Mommy and baby were discharged from the hospital just in time for the season three premier of #My Giant Life TONIGHT! Thank you again for all the positive vibes and prayers, I am exhausted!! Coming out of the hospital, people asked me how old Liam is, I said, “5 days.” They didn’t believe it, lol.

During the episode, Lindsay told the cameras that she had moved to Las Vegas. She also revealed that she and her boyfriend, British actor Paul Gorvin, had broken up.

Lindsay explained that they ended their relationship because they “weren’t working out”:

“I felt really disrespected and was kind of tired of dealing with that. He’d tell me things like, my shoulders were too broad.”

The new mom admitted that the breakup left her confidence shattered. Now she is working on picking up the pieces. The 6-foot, 9-inch aspiring actress said:

“I’m so unique. There’s no need for me to be treated with such disrespect. I want to take the power back.”

It has yet to be confirmed whether Paul is the father of her child. Liam’s last name (Hayward) may indicate that his father is not currently a part of their lives.

Lindsay, who praised her mom multiple times for being there for her during her pregnancy, was also raised by a single parent.

She wrote on Instagram that if it wasn’t for her mom, Ellen, she wouldn’t have made it through the past six days:

[I] could not have given birth or survived the past 5 days in the hospital without this woman. First grandbaby for my mama and she has been such a great nana if I do say myself, but I’m a little biased. So grateful to know a love like my mother’s. Thank you for being here for me and holding my hand through this experience, mama.

It is unclear whether Lindsay will talk about Liam’s father during this new season.
