Just days after the mom of two got shamed for not using her money to make her daughter look “nicer,” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is getting slammed again after an interview with US Weekly.
According to the “Jersey Shore” star, she and her husband of four years Jionni LaValle are trying for baby number three.
Snooki and LaValle are already parents to six-year-old Lorenzo and four-year-old Giovanna.
The mom said of their efforts to get pregnant again:
“We’ve actually been trying for two months now and it’s not happening.”
Snooki went on to say that she believes she having a difficult time trying to conceive because of her high “stress level”:
“So I’m just gonna relax. If it happens, it happens.”
Now some social media users are calling Snooki’s comments “a slap in the face”:
Wow 2 whole months. What a slap in the face to those who actually struggle with infertility.
Let me tell you how long me and my Fiance’ have been trying for Baby #1! 6 Year’s! 🙁 Be Thankful with what you have. Some Women would give up everything to have their Miracle Baby.
Seriously!? 2 months! That’s nothing unless you have been trying 6 months to a year. Why is this even news!?
Wow…2 months and no baby?! You poor thing! How about the women who have been trying to conceive FOR YEARS! What about women who can’t even have ONE baby! Poor, poor Snooki! I’m sure it’s been a hard two months on you.
I love Snooki but this is an insult to women who actually struggle to conceive.
According to Women’s Health, infertility means not being able to get pregnant after one year of trying or six months if a woman is 35 or older.
Women’s Heath further reports:
About 10 percent of women, or 6.1 million, in the United States ages 15-44 have difficulty getting pregnant or staying pregnant.
Other users defended Snooki, commenting that the reality star wasn’t claiming to struggle:
Ladies, she’s not claiming that she struggles with infertility. A reporter asked how long they’ve been trying, and they started about 2 months ago. That’s it. We can all relax now.
My god….seriously. “We’ve been trying two months. It isn’t happening” is not an insult to infertile women everywhere. It’s just a statement that’s true of her life.
Nonetheless, it seems as though the stress of not getting pregnant right away isn’t affecting her marriage.
She told Us Weekly that she and LaValle have never been better. Snooki said, in part, “We’re doing amazing, clearly, cause we want more kids.”
