Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi got real about the struggle of being a mom of three on Instagram. And as a result of her honesty, the 31-year-old is being mom-shammed.

On Saturday, July 27, the reality star took to Instagram to share a photo of herself feeding her youngest child, 2-month-old Angelo.

Snooki and her husband, Jionni LaValle, welcomed their third child into the world on May 30.

However, because the photo simultaneously showed Snooki sipping on a glass of red wine, some of her followers were displeased.

Snooki captioned the photo:

“What’s mom life like with 2 kids and a newborn?” THIS.

The working mom added the hashtags, “Mom Juice” and “I’m A Good Mom I Swear.”

However, while fellow celebrity mom’s like Jesse James Decker said, “I’m feelin this one,” others slammed the mom for drinking while caring for her child:

I’m reporting you to CPS TODAY hope they take your kids and give them to someone more responsible

You not suppose to drink alcohol if you breastfeeding your baby

This is the most ignorant picture I’ve ever come across!!! Your not getting the mom of the year award!!!

stop using your kids as a excuse to drink

*if so all that [alcohol] is going into your baby’s milk…

But even more of her fans came to her defense.

One commenter wrote:

Seeing so much “pump and dump” comments makes me sad! You do NOT need to waste that precious milk! Literally, if you can find/hold baby, you can nurse baby! I wish more women were educated on breastfeeding, instead of spreading this narrative that your milk is somehow “bad” if you’ve had a couple drinks.

While others added:

That’s multitasking at its finest! Cheers girl!

This is what “momming” looks like in real life

According to the BabyCenter, breastfeeding mothers can safely have an occasional glass of wine, if they “wait at least two hours after you finish a drink before nursing your baby to give your body a chance to clear the alcohol”:

To ward off dehydration, down a glass of water in addition to the alcoholic drink. It’s also a good idea to eat beforehand or when you’re having your drink. This helps lower the amount of alcohol in your blood and your milk.

However, because not all mothers are the same, please consult with your doctor before adding any alcohol to your diet after having a child.

It’s also important to note that it’s unclear if Snooki has chosen to breastfeed Angelo or if she uses formula.
