But the seemingly friendly man’s alleged actions were not so innocent. As the initial report stated:
She was put into a car, strangled, and thrown off a bridge into Lake Quinsigamond.
Amazingly, the 7-year-old survived the drop.
Despite her injuries, the girl was able to swim to shore where police found her alive about an hour and a half later, around 4:30 a.m. She was dressed in pajamas and “soaking wet.”
Luckily, the girl’s injuries were not life-threatening.
Hubert was arrested and, so far, charged with kidnapping. According to Worcester Police, investigators are still talking with the victim, and the investigation into the kidnapping is still ongoing.
