Like many parents, actress Selma Blair is cheering on her child for finishing another year of school.

On Friday, the 46-year-old “Legally Blonde” star told fans on Instagram that it was the last day of first grade for her son, 7-year-old Arthur Saint.

The proud mom shared a photo collage of her only child along with a sweet caption to commemorate the occasion. Blair wrote:

To my son on his last day of first grade. I will hold your hand, I will help hold the light for you. I will lift you up if ever you need me.

She continued:

You are my favorite person and have taught me everything I know about love. I am so proud of who you are. I can’t wait to reach for your hand. And you will be right here. Soon. Soon. Always, your mom.

Last month, Blair shared with fans that her son has been affected by her recent diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS).

She said that at a “young authors workshop” he wrote a story inspired by her condition. Blair wrote on Instagram:

He wrote a story about being trapped in a house. He told me I inspired it.  Also, he likes making cute rabbit teeth. I approve.

Blair publicly confirmed her MS diagnosis in October 2018 and has since been open about the struggles she goes through in day-to-day life.

In May, she shared an update that read:

Here’s a truth. I feel sick as all hell. I am vomiting and all the things which are not polite to speak of. My son ran away. From me. I have to get him to school. The medical treatments take their toll.

Despite her illness, it seems the mom is doing everything she can to support her son as he makes the leap to second grade.
