Actress Selma Blair continued to be open about the unpredictable and often debilitating disease known as multiple sclerosis (MS) on Friday.

In a sullen selfie posted to Instagram, the 46-year-old shared a heartbreaking health update after having a rough day battling health complications.

The “Cruel Intentions” star said she got really sick and was unable to care for her son Arthur Saint Bleick at one point and he had a difficult time handling the situation.

In the throes of trying to care for a child while fighting through a chronic health condition, Blair received support and encouragement from fellow celebrities and fans.

She began her post by saying:

Here’s a truth. I feel sick as all hell. I am vomiting and all the things which are not polite to speak of. My son ran away. From me. I have to get him to school. The medical treatments take their toll.

As previously reported by Dearly, the disabling disease often disrupts brain, spinal cord, vision, muscle functions, and balance.

Nonetheless, as Blair wrote, she will continue to fight every day:

I am going to get through this. We do. This will pass. And to moms and dads who watch their kids sick on things we want them to take to get better… I hold you. So glad this is me and not my child.

She continued: “I cannot imagine ever feeling ok again. #roughday. But it’s still morning. We get through. #realitycheck.”

Actress Jennifer Garner, as well as Kate Bosworth, sent Blair sympathy messages.

In a follow-up post, the “Legally Blonde” actress took to Instagram to share more about her experiences with others.

She said she “cleaned up” and went to friend Sharon Stone for comfort.

Blair revealed symptoms can include fatigue, walking difficulties, numbness, pain, vomiting and vision problems, among others.

“Thor” star, Jaimie Alexander, said so many people are being helped by the mom’s willingness to share her “reality.”
