A boy hurt in a crash last year is missing out on childhood moments after he was critically injured.
Michael Randazzo was 10 years old when a jeep hit him while he was walking to a friends house, reports Fox 13. He experienced a traumatic brain injury as a result of the accident.
The now 11-year-old from Lake Wales, Florida has been suffering since September 17, 2017, and his favorite superhero took notice.
He’s unable to speak due to brain damage and has limited physical abilities.
It’s been a difficult time for Michael, but a video from one of his favorite actors was just the inspiring message needed to cheer-up the 11-year-old.
After reading his story on social media, “Deadpool” actor Ryan Reynolds sent this message to his young fan:
“Man, you have been through more in your short life than most people have been through in their entire lives.
I just want you to know that I am thinking about you, that I love you, that Uncle Deadpool loves you. I hope you’re hanging in there, pal, and I also hope I get to meet you one of these days. Sounds like you’re a very special guy.”
Watch the “Deadpool” actor deliver an encouraging message to Michael.
According to Randazzo, every time you say “Deadpool” or talk about “Deadpool” it brightens Michael’s day.
His mother was grateful and touched by the video— saying she knew it would bring happiness back into his life after his health crisis:
“It was extremely touching. It made me kinda sad actually because I know how much he would love that. I can imagine how excited he would be if he was his old self.””
Michael’s family is struggling to stay strong after the accident left the boy paralyzed:
“My heart breaks, still to this day, every time I look at Michael.”
They’re raising money for his medical expenses by selling t-shirts online.
