Robin Williams’ Son Continues His Dad’s Legacy by Naming His First Child After the Late Actor

Robin Williams’ son Zak Williams paid his dad the most touching tribute by continuing his memory through naming his first child after the late actor.

Us Weekly reports, Williams and his fiancée Olivia June welcomed a baby boy on May 22 but recently shared the happy news with the public. The announcement comes almost five years after Williams died of a tragic suicide at the age of 63.

McLaurin Clement Williams’ — who weighed 8 pounds and measured  20-and-a-half inches long after birth — first name is the same as Robin’s middle name. The couple plan to call the little boy Mickey for short.

As I’m proud to have successfully built a business that doesn’t rely on Silicon Valley VCs caring about women’s friendships to operate and has an amazing supportive team, I’m excited to be expanding my role from global change-maker startup CEO, connecting millions of women to their best friends, to a milk factory, raising a really amazing little man who has a boss mamma. None of this would be possible without the most incredible and supportive partner a woman could ever hope for. The new dad and his fiancée shared a slideshow on Instagram of family photos taken by Williams’ sister, Zelda Williams, to celebrate the baby’s arrival.

The mental-health advocate and CEO of the women’s empowerment app VINA wrote on Instagram:

Introducing you to my little family! My fiancé, Zak, and I were so happy to welcome baby McLaurin to the world on May 22nd. We are beyond thrilled he chose us to be his parents, and obviously think he’s the best, smartest, and cutest baby ever!!.

The new mom said she wanted to keep the news private for a number of reasons. She explained:

The mother explained that she’s embracing the challenge of mothering and nurturing her business. She also said her husband’s contribution is helping her transition into motherhood.
