Arizona dog-mom Paula Godwin was out for a walk last Friday with her two pups when she was confronted with a rattlesnake.
She wrote on Facebook that her six-month-old pup Todd “jumped right in front of [her] leg” to absorb the oncoming rattlesnake bite that Godwin nearly sustained.
Posting photos of the aftermath of Todd’s battle with the rattlesnake, Godwin wrote:
This is what a hero looks like.
Todd has now gone viral for his selfless act of heroism:
This is Todd. He saved his human from a rattlesnake yesterday. A true h*ckin hero. He’s expected to make a full recovery and has been rewarded our fifth ever 15/10 pic.twitter.com/TsS6isI0Ew

With thousands of thoughts and well wishes directed toward Todd, the pupper is healing speedily.
Godwin posted an update days after the incident reporting that Todd is healing wonderfully:
She later added her gratitude for the outpouring of support, writing online:

Friends of the Godwin family set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money for other dogs and owners who may need anti-venom in the case of a poisonous bite.
