Todd Chrisley has made a name for himself both in business, thanks to his mega-success in real estate, and fatherhood. He garnered fame for his eccentric parenting style through his family’s hit reality show “Chrisley Knows Best.”
Along with his wife, Julie, the 48-year-old father of five raises his kids as best he can, and he does so with some serious sass.
But like most Southern fathers, Todd has a very protective side — especially when it comes to his 19-year-old daughter, Savannah.
The beauty pageant queen surely has had her fair share of admirers, but the blonde bombshell is well aware her father isn’t going to let her date just anyone.
In fact, when Savannah was linked to NBA player Chandler Parsons — who’s been linked to “it” girls like Kendall Jenner — six months ago, Todd wasn’t shy about his opinion.
In an interview with “Access Hollywood Live,” he said he wasn’t thrilled with his daughter’s infatuation at the time:
“Listen, he’s got a great personality. But, you know, he’s an NBA player. I think in the NBA, you know, they’re ho hounds. I mean, so, you know, my daughter’s not gonna be on that list.
They have two phones, you know, side chick, main chick. … You know, let’s call it what it is.”
But just last month, Todd seemed to have a change of heart when it comes to professional athletes, telling E!’s “Daily Pop” that Savannah’s current boyfriend, Luke Kennard — who also happens to be an NBA player — is OK in his book:
“[Savannah] has been a ‘Shady Sheila’ in her past. We don’t have to worry about that because Luke is a wonderful, fine young man whose integrity and morals are beyond reproach.
His family is just wonderful, good, God-fearing people.”
And Savannah had a feeling her father would approve. She said she wasn’t even nervous about telling him the news:
“Honestly, I wasn’t [afraid] because, for the first time, he’s an awesome human being. There was no hesitation about it. It started off very pure and right. [Todd] was involved from the very beginning. That’s the way to do it.”
A lot can happen in a month, especially in the world of Todd Chrisley, and his latest message for the young lovebirds suggests the protective father is still in approval.
After reports began circulating that the pair had split up, Todd had one thing to say.
On Tuesday, Todd took to Instagram to commend the couple on their relationship:
His caption read:
So proud of these two and how they NEVER listen to the noise. [Luke and Savannah,] I hope you guys are having an amazing time.

While Savannah and Luke enjoy life together as a new couple, Todd seems to always be waiting in the wings.
For now, it appears the doting father can finally trust that his daughter is in good hands.
