During their first public outing since their nephew was born, Kate Middleton and Prince William were both very excited that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now parents.

As Dearly reported, on May 6, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed a son into the world.

The couple has yet to share a photo of their bundle of joy or reveal his name. Harry said in a statement a few hours after becoming a father for the first time:

“I haven’t been at many births. This is definitely my first birth, but it was amazing, absolutely incredible.

I’m so incredibly proud of my wife, and as every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I’m just over the moon.”

Now, Harry’s older brother, Prince William, is also just as excited to see him becoming a father.

In a statement given during a public outing, William joked that he’s “very pleased and glad to welcome my brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting!”

He continued:

“Uncle, a second time for me. […] We’re absolutely thrilled and looking forward to seeing them in the next few days when things quiet down a little bit. […]

There’s plenty of advice. I wish him all the best, and I hope the next few days, they can settle down and enjoy having a newborn in the family and all the sort of joys that come with it that.”

William and Kate are also an aunt and uncle to Kate’s sister’s child.

Kate later added her own congratulatory message for her brother and sister-in-law:

“It’s such a special time. Louis and Charlotte just having had their birthdays — it’s such a great time of the year to have a baby. Spring’s in the air, so it’s really great. As William said, look forward to meeting him and finding out what his name’s going to be. It’s really exciting for both of them. I wish them the best. Actually, these next few weeks, it’s always a bit daunting the first time around, so wish them all the best.”

And as well as William and Kate, Meghan’s estranged father, Thomas Markle, also issued an official statement to The Sun.

It read:

“I’m delighted to hear that mother and child are doing well. I am proud that my new grandson is born into the British royal family and I am sure that he will grow up to serve the crown and the people of Britain with grace, dignity, and honor.

God bless the child and I wish him health and happiness, and my congratulations to my lovely daughter Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry, and God save the Queen.”

Harry and Meghan are expected to release new details of their son in the upcoming days.
