Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ignited a social media firestorm in December when they revealed their stunning engagement photos.

The romantic shots were taken by fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski on the grounds of the historic Frogmore House at Windsor Castle, according to earlier reports.

The historic home was supposed to be the designated location for their royal wedding reception, but it seems there’s since been a change of plans.

The soon-to-be married couple were allegedly told they’ve been “denied” use of the house.

According to Yahoo Style, the Express reports that Prince Harry and Meghan were told by royal aides to choose a more “practical” venue for their highly anticipated reception.

Frogmore House is one of the queen’s favorite stately homes and inside sources said she would have loved for the couple to hold their reception there. The sources told Express:

“The Queen would also have loved the family to see what had been done at Frogmore: the house has just been renovated by a group of friends as a 70th wedding anniversary gift to her and Philip.”

But now, the couple have supposedly chosen St. George’s Hall as their new toned-down reception venue, Yahoo Style reports. It’s a fitting choice and located just a mile away from their venue, St George’s Chapel.

The decision to choose a less glamorous venue could have something to do with some of the criticism Meghan has faced in recent months, such as her choice to wear a $75,000 gown for their engagement photos.

According to earlier reports, the future bride wore a luxury Ralph & Russo gown for the shots and even got slammed by her own sister for it.

Samantha Grant, Meghan’s estranged older sister, told recently In Touch that her dad needs financial support after filing for bankruptcy in 2016.

And she thinks her half-sister should help out:

“If you can spend $75,000 on a dress, you can spend $75,000 on your dad.”

She claims dad Thomas Markle currently has a “bad leg” that he’s working on to help “walk Meg down the aisle,” though Meghan previously stated that she wants her mother, Doria Ragland, to walk with her on the big day.

But regardless of their reason for switching to a more “practical” venue, the reception is still likely to be just as special for the lovebird couple.
