When one woman discovered her husband looking at porn behind her back, she decided to enact revenge in a very revealing way.

User serephine16 took to Mumsnet, an online forum for conversation among parents, to describe her situation.

She explained that she and her “dear husband” had previously decided that pornography had no place in their marriage, after he fervently assured her that he didn’t use it.

So when she discovered her husband lurking on a porn subreddit, where women aged 30+ to post nude photos, she was devastated. Not only had they had an agreement, but serephine16 was shaken at her husband’s “ability to lie so convincingly and easily.”

His deceit, combined with her own feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem due to her “heavily pregnant” body, provided inspiration for her revenge.

The Mumsnet user decided to “get her own back” by posting a naked picture of herself on the very same Reddit page she had caught her husband using. She said the numerous messages and “up-votes” did wonders for her dwindling self-esteem.

However, when she told her husband of her revenge plan, he went “completely crazy, extremely angry.”

As a result, serephine16 appealed to the users of Mumsnet to get their perspective on who is in the right. While the poster believes her actions were not out of line, her husband thinks differently. She wrote:

[He] said that what I have done is far far worse then him going onto the same type page basically for god knows how long and looking at many different pictures of young woman and lying to me about it. He’s so angry he can’t even think about it without blowing up.

Mumsnet users were quick to respond; however, they were not unanimous about whose side of the debate they were on.

Quite a few people support the poster’s actions, believing she took a stand and pointed out the double standards in their relationship:

Others believed that both parties were in the wrong, and that neither knows how to conduct themselves in an adult relationship. User Saiman wrote:

I dont think what he did was ok. But then i think what you did was not ok either.

Besides which all the game playing and revenge games will end your marriage. Far quicker than him having a wank.

Yes womens [sic] self esteem can be damaged by their partners looking at porn. But i [sic] pretty sure mens self esteem can by damaged by their partners posting nudes and enoying [sic] men wanking over them and messaging them.

Unfortunately for the couple, others pointed out that this interaction has revealed some deeper fissures in their marriage:

Whoever’s side you’re on, the Mumsnet user acknowledges one fault in her revenge plan. She said:

“In hindsight I do realize tit for tat in a marriage is very unhealthy and I regret that aspect of it.”
