A very pregnant Jessica Simpson cried for “Help!!!!” after finding no relief for her extremely swollen ankle and foot. The “Dukes of Hazzard” star took to Instagram on Thursday to ask sympathetic followers for remedies to help reduce or prevent swollen feet during pregnancy.
Despite all the beautiful parts of carrying her third child with husband Eric Johnson, this situation with her swelling ankles will only get worse if she doesn’t heed the suggestions from medical experts, say moms on social media.
This week certainly hasn’t been the easiest time for Simpson. “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards even wrote back in the comment section, “I feel you sister.”
Earlier this week, the 38-year-old mother to Maxwell Drew Johnson, 6, and Ace Knute Johnson, 5, revealed she was feeling ill and having a “sick day.”
Needless to say, followers flooded Simpson’s comment section with helpful tips to ease her discomfort. And several remedies suggested by fellow moms are also recommended by the American Pregnancy Association. In response to the post about her foot, some commenters wrote:
I’ve been there ?
Same thing that happened to me when I was pregnant with my first daughter she killed me!! Just elevate your feet up maybe some compression socks!!! Or something that can flush out the fluids!! Hope you feel better soon and wear your hubbys flip flops!!!
Put those feet up! As much as you can…hated having that swollen feeling in the ankles. And…eat less salt. Those are the only two things that helped!
Omg drink tons of water and rest those feet.
Poor baby, ouch yeah elevate and hot or cold packs and call your Doc sugar! I hope u feel better?
As previously reported by Dearly, this isn’t the first time Simpson has complained about big feet and cankles during her third pregnancy.
According to Kid Health:
“The extra fluid in the body and the pressure from the growing uterus can cause swelling (or “edema”) in the ankles and feet.”
Medical professionals advise women to call their health care provider if they notice swelling on the face, around the eyes, or abnormal signs or symptoms during pregnancy.
In October swollen feet revealed that “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum Kenya Moore tested positive for preeclampsia, as previously reported by Dearly.
