This week, singer Pink finally got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 39-year-old, who has won three Grammy Awards for her music, attended an unveiling ceremony for the star on Tuesday, E! News reports.
The “Beautiful Trauma” singer brought along her husband, Carey Hart, and two children, 7-year-old Willow and 2-year-old Jameson, for support.
And her speech during the event made it very clear why. The mom said they were the ones to thank for all her success, along with her father.
The songstress noted that she signed her first record deal 23 years ago and used a saying her father taught her as motivation. Pink told the crowd:
“It’s been two decades and it’s been meaningful and it’s been awesome. Today for me is a celebration of something that my dad taught me. And that is ‘to thine own self be true’ … There is a power in believing in yourself — you may not be the best that ever did it, you may not be the prettiest or the tallest of the funniest or the most talented … if you’re stubborn and you don’t give up and you work really hard — no one else can ever be you. Today is an absolute honor. Today proves that.”
The mom of two also took time to thank her husband, who has been by her side since they tied the knot in 2006. The star gushed:
“My husband — he’s so cute. He’s my muse and if he didn’t piss me off all the time I’d have not much to say. I wouldn’t be standing up here if it wasn’t for you. Never change.”
Pink also gave a shoutout to her two loving children, who got to watch their mom receive the honor. She said they were the true lights in her life:
“My children — you guys are my stars and I would never shine without you.”
The songstress called receiving the star “surreal.” However, she may receive another big honor this weekend.
Her latest album, “Beautiful Trauma,” is nominated for the Pop Vocal Album Grammy. She’ll find out if she won the award at the Grammys on Sunday.
