Celebrity couple Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z both have an impressive number of Grammy Awards under their belts, so it makes sense that the power duo was sitting front and center at Sunday’s ceremony.
And the parents brought a very special guest to sit along with them, 6-year-old Blue Ivy Carter.
According to CNN, the couple’s eldest daughter sat right in between her famous parents wearing a floor-length white gown— fitting for the daughter of music royalty.
But it’s what the little girl did when cameras panned to the Carter family for a moment that caused a firestorm on social media.
@BritishVogue/TwitterAccording to People, the moment occurred when singer Camila Cabello delivered a touching speech before welcoming U2 to the Grammy stage.
Cabello’s words prompted applause from the audience, including Beyoncé and Jay-Z — but their daughter wasn’t having it.
When the celebrity parents started to clap, Blue Ivy turned to each of them and gestured from them to quiet down.
And the 6-year-old’s spunky moment quickly went viral on Twitter.

Many fans laughed at the hilarious moment, while others claimed it showed “who’s REALLY in charge” in the family. But some social media users didn’t find it “cute.”
One users wrote that Blue Ivy showed “no manners” towards her parents, and another called the behavior “kind of rude.”
Regardless of public opinion, the famous parents didn’t seem upset with their 6-year-old’s behavior.
It also appeared that the parents opted not to bring their baby twins, Sir and Rumi, who were revealed in a surprise announcement to fans nearly a year ago.
But perhaps they’ll be the ones grabbing attention at next year’s Grammy Awards ceremony.
