“Tom Vs. Time” is a Facebook documentary show that gives NFL and Tom Brady fans a closer look at the star athlete’s personal life.
The show not only lets people in on how hard he works to be one of the most successful quarterbacks of all time, but it also gives fans a sneak peek into Brady’s life as a father.
During the show’s third episode, Brady is seen getting work done on his muscles when his eldest son Jack walks in to ask if his dad can look at his fantasy team:
Brady then asks Jack what he gets if he says yes. The 10-year-old knows exactly what his dad is looking for: a kiss.
Jack quickly runs over to give Brady a peck, before the dad of three jokes that it wasn’t good enough, inferring that he should try again. Jack then gives his dad another kiss that lasts much longer.
Like any 10-year-old boy would, Jack quickly uses his shirt to wipe off his dad’s germs.
The kiss, however, made some of the people who watched that particular episode uncomfortable. A few told CBS 2:
“I’m a little uncomfortable with that.”
“I think at a certain age it’s like OK you can kiss them on the cheek; you can give ‘em a hug. But not in the mouth and not for that long.”
“Too long, like romantic long.”
“I don’t think affection should ever be tied in with a favor.”
“You don’t do anything with your body because someone else is insisting that you do it in order for you to get what you want.”
While others commented directly on the video:
“What in the heck was that kiss thing with his kid?! That kid was like 10 years old kissing his dad who was half naked getting rubbed down by another man.”
“That kiss with his son was pretty creepy…look..smh poor kid..growing up kissing men before he kisses a woman…lol…”
“Ummm…sooooo…we just gone act like Tom Brady didn’t ask 4 a longer kiss on da lips from his son…sheesh.”
“I love me some Tom Brady but that 3 second lip kiss with his son is inappropriate. Yuck.”
“Did Tom Brady just kiss the son in the mouth? Some things that people do just don’t understand.”
On the other hand, Brady kissing his children on the mouth shouldn’t come as a surprise. Remember when the 40-year-old quarterback kissed his own father on the lips after he won Super Bowl LI last year:

It seems like it’s just something Brady grew up doing and, like those defending him are saying, there’s nothing wrong with showing your child affection:
“If you kiss your kids too much, it’s the wrong thing. If you kiss your kids too little, it’s the wrong thing. If you hug too much — people need to back off and stop parent shaming.”
“I kiss my son on his lips. I have since day one.I would have no problem with my son kissing me like that.”
“Awwwww Tom, when my son wants me to do something that’s exactly what I say to him!!!! “What do I get” and I get sugars and a hug.”
“I’m a lifelong Giants fan. It’s in my blue blood to hate on Tom Brady, but this is a kiss with his son! Absurd it’s being trashed or called scandalous.”
“Ok. STOP. I can’t believe I’m about to do this but STOP IT I can’t stand Tom Brady but I hate parent shaming. It’s an innocent beautiful moment of love. I kiss my children on the mouth and my oldest son is 22. Sick bastards for thinking anything else! Shame on you.”
“The Tom Brady kissing his kid being a thing on the Internet is depressing. The guy seems like a great dad and is affectionate with his kids. That’s a great thing.”
What are your thoughts on parents and children kissing on the lips?
