Nine-year-old Celine Tam first rocked the “America’s Got Talent” audience back in June with her stunning rendition of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On.”
From the moment she hit the stage, Tam absolutely wowed crowds with her moving rendition of the “Titanic” classic. Audience members almost instantly jumped to their feet in astonishment that a pint-sized singer could pack such a powerful punch.Screenshot/America’s Got Talent
Even the judges couldn’t believe what they were hearing, and millions around the world instantly fell in love with the young talent. A video of her performance quickly went viral, amassing more than 26 million views.
To no one’s surprise, Tam was quickly advanced to the next round of the talent competition. And it seems she’s not running out of talent any time soon.
On Tuesday night, the Hong Kong native returned to the stage to hopefully claim her spot at the highly coveted live shows.
She swapped out Celine for another classic hit, Michael Bolton’s “How Am I Supposed To Live Without You.”
Once again, Tam churned out another commanding performance, impressing judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell, and Mel B.
She was greeted with another raucous standing ovation from the crowd before the judges were able to share their praise. Perhaps the most surprised was the guest judge, activist and “Orange Is The New Black” actress Laverne Cox.
Cox told Tam how “blown away” she was with all of Tam’s “unbelievable” talent:
“I just want to eat you up and, like, take you home. You were so adorable and so cute and your voice is amazing…I’m really blown away. You are so talented. Unbelievable. So adorable.”
And the Emmy Award nominee wanted to let Tam know just how phenomenal she was. Wildly impressed, Cox pressed the “golden buzzer,” a fast track to the live broadcasts. The golden buzzer is one of the highest honors for a contestant at this point in the competition.
Golden confetti fluttered down from the ceiling as Tam responded in complete shock, mouth agape.Screenshot/America’s Got Talent
Cox joined Tam on stage for a loving embrace, the girl still floored at her rare golden ticket.
The impressive songstress will move on, one step closer to her dream of becoming America’s next singing sensation.
