Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman married fellow actor Tom Cruise in 1990.
The pair eventually divorced in 2001 and Kidman found love again with country singer and fellow Australian native, Keith Urban.
The two tied the knot in 2006 and now have two young daughters together, Sunday and Faith.
At the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, 50-year-old Kidman won an Emmy for outstanding lead actress in the hit HBO show, “Big Little Lies.” Her role as Celeste Wright, a victim of domestic abuse at the hands of her husband, had a profound effect on her family during filming.
It was her speech that got the most attention, though.

In it, she thanked her husband and their children for the sacrifices they made while she worked on the HBO project, saying:
“I have two little girls … this is yours. I want my little girls to have this on their shelf and to look at it and go, ‘Every time my mommy didn’t put me to bed, it’s because of this. I got something!'”
She also took the time to talk about the prevalence of domestic abuse and how the Emmy win “shines a light on it even more.” She said:
“It is a complicated, insidious disease. It exists, far more than we allow ourselves to know. It is filled with shame and secrecy.”
But it’s who she forgot to mention in her acceptance speech that’s raising eyebrows. Fans noticed that she never mentioned the adopted children she shares with Cruise, Connor and Isabella Jane, now both in their 20s.
Some say her “snub” is actually because of the children’s place within the Church of Scientology.
According to earlier reports, Kidman has typically stayed “tight-lipped” about her relationship with her adopted children, especially since her divorce from Cruise and the children’s decision to grow up “alongside the Scientology church.”
Twitter let her have it:

Is it weird that Nicole Kidman doesn’t really acknowledge those kids she adopted with Tom Cruise or are they Scientology hostages

It’s always super uncomfortable to me when Nicole doesn’t mention her adopted kids. “I’ve got two little girls.” Eek. #Emmys

Is Nicole Kidman not allowed to talk about her two older kids with Tom Cruise? She kinda brushed right over them… #Emmys

According to Business Insider, the Church of Scientology has labeled Kidman as a “suppressive person,” a reference to people who doubt its teaching.
While it’s unclear if Kidman is “not allowed” to talk about Connor and Isabella Jane, in January of this year, her adopted daughter did tell The Daily Mail that she and Kidman are not, in fact, disconnected because of Kidman’s status with the church:
“Of course [we talk], they’re my parents. Anyone who says otherwise is full of s**t.”
But Kidman’s failure to mention Connor and Isabella Jane on Sunday may indicate things have changed.
