NBC New York news anchor Natalie Pasquarella got a major surprise on Tuesday when she was in the middle of a broadcast.

According to the station, Pasquarella was on-air for the 11 p.m. hour when she let out an “uneasy laugh” as she sat at the news desk with her colleagues to discuss the latest update about Twitter.

Turns out, the anchor was very pregnant — and her water broke in the middle of the news segment.

On Wednesday, an anchor for the station told viewers what exactly went down the moment Pasquarella let out that awkward laugh:

“That laugh was the moment Natalie’s water broke live on this set, on air. Like a true professional, Natalie calmly finished the newscast.”

Pasquarella managed to stay so calm during the segment that her coworkers had no idea anything was going on — until the broadcast was over.

She was quickly rushed to the hospital by her coworkers once cameras were shut off, where she met up with her husband of three years, Jamin.

According to the Daily Mail, the news anchor was in labor for 13 hours before giving birth to her son, Jamin James Pastore.

He was a month early, and weighed just 5 pounds, 6 ounces. But most importantly, he was healthy. Along with a touching photo of her cradling the bouncing baby boy, she wrote:

“A beautiful blessing decided to make his entrance early! Thankful for all of the well wishes. Our hearts are full!”

The 35-year-old announced her pregnancy back in April. Jamin James is the happy couple’s first child together.
