In June 2016, one of the stars of TLC’s “Sister Wives,” Maddie Brush, married Caleb Brush.
Roughly five months after becoming husband and wife, Maddie and Caleb made a huge announcement: they were expecting their first child together in May 2017.
And on May 20, after a 72-hour long labor, Maddie and Caleb became the proud parents of a precious baby boy they named Axel James.
Maddie’s parents, Kody and Janelle Brown, couldn’t have been more excited about becoming grandparents. Janelle told People:
“I think being grandparents hasn’t sunk in yet. It’s so fun. I can’t believe how much we love this baby already.”
Kody and Janelle are the only biological grandparents of Axel James, but it’s believed that Axel will grow up calling four women grandma.
As fans of the show already know, Maddie was raised in a polygamist family — Kody has four different wives, all with kids of their own. According to Blasting News, all of Kody’s wives will be considered Axel’s grandma, regardless of the fact that not all of the kids call each of the wives mom.
Maddie explained that each grandma has a different name:
“We think it would be super cute to have different names for all the grandmas, like oma, grams or babicka. Grandma said differently or in different languages. Ultimately they get to choose what they are called but my dad [Kody] will probably be grandpa.”
And each of the sister wives takes full advantage of their time with baby Axel. Some of them have even been sharing photos on social media:

Baby Axel is the center of our world. This kid is so loved. Christine loves to carry him around in the front pack :). The trick I think, will be letting this kid get in some time where he isn't being held constantly so he can develop his muscles, but we just can't help ourselves right now.
Seriously! Axel loves his Aunties. pic.twitter.com/RF46Qaw6x0

And, like Christine says, his aunts and uncles are loving on him, too:
Though Axel will be raised with more grandmas than the average person, he will not be raised in a polygamist family like his mother.
Maddie has said in earlier interviews that she personally prefers being in a monogamous relationship.
A quick look at the new mom’s Instagram shows she’s pretty happy with her new role as mom.
And according to rumors — which have yet to be confirmed by TLC — “Sister Wives” fans may be seeing more of Maddie and her growing family in the future.
Multiple reports indicate Maddie, Caleb, and Axel could be getting their own TLC spin-off show.
