Mattea Goff and her husband, Kris, recently welcomed a new baby into their family.

And as the mom of an infant wrote on Facebook, she’s had a difficult time explaining to her husband why she is always so tired when she wakes up in the morning.

The mom of two quipped:

So this past weekend I was having a hard time finding the words (probably because I haven’t had any sleep) to express to Kris why I’m not in the best of moods first thing in the morning.

So instead of trying to find the words to express herself, Mattea grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and started drawing out how she felt.

Mattea’s work of art not only perfectly explained to her husband why she was so sleep-deprived, but it also had thousands of moms everywhere screaming in agreement.

The first picture depicts a sleeping family of three, but as the hours pass, the husband stays asleep while the breastfeeding mother is awake with a hungry and fussy baby:

The second image shows a tired mom breastfeeding her child as the baby wiggles around:

The third depicts the mother still breastfeeding into the wee hours of the night, only to have the child spit up all over the bed:

The fourth shows the mother trying to get her child to fall back asleep:

And the last shows a well-rested husband who got a full night of sleep, a full baby sleeping like an angel, and a beat-up and sleep-deprived mom:

The illustrations quickly went viral.

And thousands of other moms tagged their own husbands to tell them to take note:

So true!

Looks about right lol

this is hilariously true

Now do you get it haha

Omg I’ve never seen something so true

literally every single morning

All of it so true!! I love it lol

Beyond accurate

Every piece of this is true. Especially Owen sweating and I am FREEZING!

After Mattea’s illustrations went viral, she took to Facebook again to thank everyone for sharing her artwork.

However, she also wanted to make sure everyone knew just how supportive and loving her husband truly is:

… Before we go any further I would like to say just one thing, I think the majority of people got exactly what I was trying to convey, but, just to be clear I really wasn’t trying to vilify the one person who is getting some sleep, my husband, aka Mr. Useless Nipples.

Breastfeeding exclusively was my decision, and it’s something my husband supports and greatly appreciates. He’s a very involved father in so many other ways. It’s true that even the best of dads can step it up now and again and I may or may not fantasize about kicking him off the bed when he is able to sleep through most midnight adventures (a talent I do not possess…). Being a mom is seriously hard work, but so is being a good dad and I love and appreciate him for it.

Mattea has since started her own Facebook page called, Stick With Me — Home of the #UselessNipples.

She told Dearly, she plans on using the page as an encouraging platform for parents:

“My husband has been very supportive and genuinely excited for me.

As far as “STICK with me,” I plan on continuing to create comics based around motherhood and its struggles. But I hope it will be a platform for mom’s (and dad’s) to support and encourage each other.”
