Kashala Wilkinson says there’s no reason why her fiancé wouldn’t have come home.
As KATU reports, James Rennells of Vancouver, Washington, was last seen on December 22 when he left his boss’s house around 8:30 that evening. He had called Wilkinson to tell her he was on his way home, but he never arrived.
Wilkinson didn’t hear from Rennells again, and her calls went straight to voicemail. In the video below, she told KATU there was nothing that could explain his sudden disappearance:
“Nothing was wrong. We didn’t fight, we didn’t argue. There was no reason for him to take off.”
That weekend, Rennells’ car was found near a local park. It had been “trashed,” and inside the vehicle were things that Wilkinson says don’t belong to her fiancé.
The new mom has good reasons for believing that Rennells wouldn’t abandon her and their child, especially three days before Christmas. She told KATU:
“Something’s not right here. He would not just leave. We have a 7-month-old baby that has heart issues. He would never leave me like this. He wouldn’t.”
Adding to the mystery is the fact that Rennells’ pants and belt were found at the park as well. Wilkinson is adamant that Rennells’ disappearance is suspicious and that it “doesn’t make sense.”
On Christmas Day, family and friends went to the park to look for more clues, hoping to find some hint as to where Rennells might be. Wilkinson told KATU:
“It could be that one detail that we are missing that can bring him home or at least find out what happened to him.”
According to KGW, Vancouver police are seeking the public’s help in locating Rennells. He is approximately 6 feet tall and 200 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He has no known medical issues and is believed to be on foot in the Leverich Park area of Vancouver. When last seen, he was wearing a grey jacket, collared black Under Armour shirt, a tan belt, blue jeans, and brown Red Wing boots.
Anyone with information about his disappearance should contact the Vancouver Police Department at (360) 487-7400.
