Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and his high school sweetheart-turned-wife, Savannah James, have three children together, 14-year-old LeBron Jr., 11-year-old Bryce, and 4-year-old Zhuri.
Both of James’ sons, LeBron Jr. and Bryce, have inherited their dad’s love of basketball and are already stars of their own.
And after a video of LeBron interacting with one of his sons after a game went viral, it’s safe to say the father of three loves having that in common with his boys.
He captioned the video:
After my guy Bryce and his team came back to win a game they had no business winning I had a few words for him going forward.
LeBron can be heard saying:
“You made — listen, come sit down real quick. You made three of the biggest plays of the game. You want me to tell you what they were? You get too down on yourself for no reason. You made three of the biggest plays of the game. You got the offensive rebound, right? Down four, you got the offensive rebound, got the tip-in, right? And then you had the outlet pass to Owen when he got the and-1. And then you made the last swing sling to him for the game winner. You know what I’m saying?
So if you missing shots or making shots, don’t worry about it, kid. You played a hell of a game. You ain’t got to worry about making shots or missing shots, all right? Good job. I’m proud of you. I’m proud of you, man. All right, go with your team, bye. Good job.”
According to SB Nation, LeBron giving Bryce a pep talk is “one of the best things we’ve ever heard.”
Thousands of fans praised LeBron for picking up his son when he was feeling down after the game by pointing out all of the good he did.
Some of the comments under the video read:
This is amazing. I know it can’t be easy for Bryce. Not just about basketball, but being the son of that man. Honestly, I hope if he decides to do ballet, we will see the same support from those who know nothing about his life.
im tellin you…this why he the goat
I Love it!!! Awesome Father
love this insight. this is what sets a child apart from others-focused, consistent and engaging feedback!
Speak greatness …..when they can’t see it!!!!
Same thing I tell my kids u gotta have fun first! Don’t worry about missing and making shots it’s other parts of the game
It doesn’t matter if LeBron is the best to ever play the game, what’s important to him is that his son enjoys playing the game.
