Former Disney actress Tiffany Thornton was left a single mother in December 2015 when her loving husband passed away in a deadly car crash that also claimed the life of another person.
She had been married to her husband, probation officer Chris Carney, since 2011. They have two boys together, KJ and Bentley.Tiffany Thornton/Instagram
Even in the moments where I can barely breathe from missing my Christopher, I take a breath and remind myself that God has a plan in all of this. And that in the midst of pain He will never leave me.
Less than two years later, Thornton has found love yet again.
According to People, after a short engagement, the former Disney actress tied the knot with Josiah Capaci, a worship pastor, over the weekend.Tiffany Thornton/Instagram
Thornton posted pictures from the Saturday ceremony on social media, but apparently, she didn’t get a very warm response.
The mother of two posted a lengthy letter, along with a photo from her wedding, to Instagram earlier this week after she said people questioned if she even cared about her first husband. Thornton wrote:
This. This is love. That all encompassing, enduring, accepting, near perfect love. The kind that trumps my need to snap back at people who have the audacity to comment on my Instagram about whether I loved my first husband or not.
She said that she was “a mess” at her wedding when she thought about her late husband and that people had no right to comment.Tiffany Thornton/Instagram
The mother of two wrote:
There is no timeline for grief or for when God moves in your life in undeniable ways. There are a lot of people who think it isn’t good to be transparent on social media but I say forget that. I’m going to be open and honest because God wants me to.
But at the end of the day, she said she knew that Chris would have approved of her choice to remarry:
I thought of Chris watching us and knowing he would have loved the choice I made, for me and for the boys. I thought of Chris’s amazing parents sitting front row and how much of a blessing they have been and will forever be in our lives.
Thornton explained that Capaci came into her life when she needed him the most, and that was enough for her.
Despite all the hate, Thornton is content with her happily ever after.
