Jameel Penn said he immediately called the police after watching the terrifying video Lamora Williams, the mother of his two children, sent him.

Now, the Atlanta mother has been accused of killing their two children in a horrific way. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, investigators believe the 24-year-old mother killed the children:

“… by placing them in an oven and turning it on.”

As KTLA reports, 1-year-old Jakarter Penn and 2-year-old Keyounte Penn were found dead inside of Williams’s apartment. The woman’s 6-year-old daughter was not home at the time of the killings, and a 3-year-old child was found alive in the home.

Police said the toddlers both had visible injuries, including burn marks, possibly from the stove.

Williams said she had left her three children with her sister while she had gone out. She claims she found two of her sons unresponsive when she got home. But investigators didn’t find that story to be true after speaking to neighbors, who said she has left them home alone before.

Williams’s friend, Neesa Smith, said the mother had quit her job a month before the children were found dead because she couldn’t find a babysitter to take care of them.

Smith said Williams called her on Friday evening and told her she “couldn’t do it anymore,” adding that “nobody could tell what she was going through.”

Williams then told her friend the boys were dead. Smith said she urged her to call the police, but Williams chose to call Jameel Penn instead, forcing the father to see his dead children on video.

Penn told WSB:

“It was like a real horror movie. It was Friday the 13th. When I saw my kid, how I saw my kid, that’s when I knew what was going on.”

Members of Williams’s family explained that the woman had been suffering from “undiagnosed mental health problems,” adding the mother became worse as she struggled to raise four children under the age of 7 and deal with her father’s death, which happened when she was 19 years old.

She has been charged with murder in Jakarter and Keyounte’s deaths.

The cause of death has not been revealed at this time as the investigation into the boys’ death continues.
