A Virginia mother wasn’t laughing when she found a joke written inside her Pizza Hut box, even though her kids made a special request for it.
The Stafford mom said her 12-year-old and 15-year-old boys asked for a joke under the website’s “special instructions” tab when they placed their Pizza Hut order. But what was written on the box when it showed up at their home left her disgusted, according to WJLA.
The Huffington Post reported that the joke read:
What do a pizza delivery driver and a gynecologist have in common?
With the X-rated punchline:
They both have to smell it, but neither of them get to eat it.
The mom wasn’t amused, though — she was fuming.
What would you do if you got this joke in your pizza box? This mom complained and the @pizzahut worker was fired even though the customer asked for a joke in their online order. Now mom’s being cyber bullied. pic.twitter.com/sxhirwvYiW

She told WJLA:
“I was really shocked and floored that Pizza Hut would send that type of joke out.”
The mother, whose name and face were concealed for the interview, said when the woman who wrote the joke called her to apologize, the mom told her she hoped the employee wouldn’t lose her job. But she did.
After the phone call, the boys’ mother posted a photo of the pizza box with the joke on social media. Right away, torrents of angry people came after her for the woman getting fired:
The woman is a cyber bully playing th victim. Those of us who know her and her online antics aren’t getting the wool pulled over our eyes again.

So you ask for a joke, get one, then you get butt hurt??? That’s like asking for a drink, getting Coke, then complaining it’s not what you wanted…. This lady needs to be slapped, so she understands the stupidity behind her getting “irate”….. BE SMARTER!

You gotta be a special kind of stupid to be offended by what you asked for.

The mom stood up to people who went after her family for asking for the joke:
“It’s an inappropriate joke. There’s a time and place for everything. My pizza box is not one of them. It’s a lesson learned.”
Pizza Hut also faced threats and complaints on its Facebook after the jokester was fired:
