As she revealed on Facebook, Alpert had been spending her day getting things done around their house while her husband laid around on the couch.

After “finally” getting annoyed by the lack of help she was getting from him, the mom sent her husband out to the grocery store with a list of things she “needed.”

Thousands of Facebook users praised Alpert for her creativity, even if it was at her husband’s expense:

Might try that!!

Serves him right!

Omg this is GOLD

I’m dying. This is hilarious.

When my uncle was a single dad .. his daughter was sick and we told him he needed to give her “flat ginger ale” … after an hour at the store – he called my mom saying he couldn’t find “flat ginger ale… only the normal one!

this is awesome!

Omg that is priceless

As one commenter wrote, many were left wanting “to see what they come home with,” or at least what her husband’s reaction was when he finally figured out that nothing on the list exists.

Nine days later, Alpert gave her followers the update they were looking for:

Awww crap, I went grocery shopping this morning and look who I found. Guess he’s still looking for diet diet coke.
