The controversial anti-vaccination movement is continuing to grow across the country, despite some schools cracking down on mandatory vaccines.
As Dearly previously reported, the number of unvaccinated children has quadrupled since 2001. Many parents now claim religious or philosophical exemption, which is legal in several states.
However, this can seemingly cause more than health issues for the unvaccinated children.
One mom on Reddit said that she recently had to uninvite a child from her daughter’s birthday party because the little girl wasn’t vaccinated.
The mom explained that her daughter’s best friend could easily get sick and she wasn’t willing to take the risk. She wrote:
After I sent out invites to my kids birthday party, I found out one of her friends from dance was unvaccinated. My daughters best friend is in remission from leukemia and is immunocompromised. An unvaxxed kid could kill her. I uninvited the dance kid and very nicely explained the situation.
She went on to explain that her daughter’s friend beat cancer at age five and the idea of her catching a preventable illness made her want to “rage.”
But the uninvited child’s mother didn’t take the snub too well. The mom wrote on Reddit that the woman tried to get her daughter kicked out of their children’s dance school.
Then the angry mother’s plan allegedly backfired.
The dance teacher was “flabbergasted” that the child was unvaccinated and asked her to change dance schools. The birthday party mom explained:
The dance school owner is an older lady and had no idea there were idiots these days that didn’t vax so she implemented a new rule that students had to be up to date and the unvaxxed kid had to find a new dance school. I felt bad for the kid but her mother is a sociopath. Herd immunity saves lives when it comes to kids fighting cancer.
Do you think the mom throwing the birthday party should have uninvited the child? Let us know in the comments.
