Jessica King was not convinced by people who used social media to boast about their perfect lives.
In fact, she knew that those who acted like their lives were “all perfect,” were definitely omitting the gory, realistic details of their less-than-perfect moments.
In a public Facebook post, the mom of two posted on August 25:
I don’t want a perfect life, I want a happy life.
As the Daily Mail reports, days after that post, Jessica was found dead in her home, leaving behind two small daughters and her chance at a happy life.
Jessica’s increasing frustration with social media facades peaked in her own Facebook statuses.
How putting pictures and status on here can hide a lot!! All happy my arse! Can't stand those people that make out their all perfect! Every relationship has it bad times!! I really do need to come off this ?
In her final Facebook status, the 23-year-old wrote:

Hinting that her own relationship may have been causing her strife — unbeknownst to her Facebook followers — may have led police officers to Jordon Thackray, Jessica’s partner of several years.
Thackray is now the leading suspect in her killing. When news of his arrest arose, those who knew Thackray were shocked. One neighbor, who chose to remain anonymous, said:
“We know Charlie and Jacque [Jordon’s parents] — they’re really nice people. They’re a nice family, This is a shock.”
“Jordon seems like a nice enough lad, he’s pleasant and a hard worker. And Charlie and Jacque have always been very supportive of him. He just recently started his own maintenance business and seemed to be doing ok for himself.”
Jessica had even posted pictures of the pair with captions such as “My Love,” and “Absolute Love The Bones Of Him.”
However, like she hinted, you can never quite trust the facade people choose to project on social media. On August 16, nearly two weeks prior to her death, Jessica posted a photo that read:
What hurts you the most is when you pour your heart in to a relationship and get you get nothing in return.

According to the West Yorkshire Police, Thackray is the sole suspect in Jessica’s death and has been charged. Initially, a 26-year-old man was arrested along with Thackray but has since been released.
The motive and cause of Jessica’s death are still under investigation.
Rita Martin, 58, who lives near the property where Jessica’s body was found, said:
“Jess was such a nice girl. She had an older daughter, about four-years-old I think, who used to wave and say hello to my dad all the time. […] She was just a nice, normal mum. I just can’t take it in. The whole community is extremely saddened by what’s happened.”
“It’s devastating to think about. She had two little girls that are now without their mother.”
