Rivera began pounding on the door accusing a man inside of having sex with Aleyda. The Orlando Sentinel reports that witnesses said the child denied having sex with anyone.
Further, investigators do not believe anyone was sexually abusing Aleyda.
During a press conference Monday afternoon, Sheriff John Mina said:
“Based on what we know and what we’ve found so far, we believe that part to be false. We are doing everything we normally do in those types of allegations, investigations, to unfound that completely.”
Mina said detectives believe Rivera stabbed her daughter inside of her car.

According to an arrest report, “Rivera stated she stabbed her daughter while in the car, and while stabbing her she was attempting to make her more comfortable.”
Afterward, she “drove [Aleyda] around in her vehicle until she ultimately died from those stab wounds.” She then took the child to Winnie Palmer Hospital.
According to an arrest report, when Rivera arrived at the hospital she told first responders:
“My baby is gone.”
At some point, hospital security detained Rivera for brandishing pocket knife with a purple handle. The weapon was covered with blood.
During an interview with investigators, the mother initially denied killing her daughter, but later confessed. According to the report, she said she wanted “to prevent her from having sex with other men,” Orlando Sentinel reports.
Rivera had stabbed Aleyda 15 times in the back and suffered a defensive stab wound to her right arm.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Mina said:
“These cases are horrific and tragic. And then to know that the child was killed by a mother — basically, a mother is the first line of defense to what is sometimes a very cruel world — is very hard on all of us.”
Rivera told detectives she never actually saw her daughter having sex. She also said that Aleyda never told her that she was sexually active. However, Rivera said the child was smiling “different.”
