chemical burns

A Texas mom told investigators that she was too scared to call 911 when her 5-year-old daughter fell ill.

According to ABC 7, 27-year-old Priscilla Nicole Torres said she didn’t report her daughter’s chemical burns because she feared Child Protective Services would get involved. So instead, Torres hoped her daughter would get better on her own. But when she didn’t, the mom reportedly wrapped 5-year-old Sierra Patino’s body with a blanket and placed her in one of the closets in their home.

Patino was later discovered after Torres’ parents visited their daughter’s boyfriend’s house. The grandparents paid their daughter a visit because they were worried about their granddaughter’s wellbeing, whom they haven’t seen in a handful of days at that point.

KHOU 11

As ABC 7 reports, upon walking into the home, the grandparents were met with the smell of a decaying body. They immediately called 911.

Upon being questioned by authorities, Torres allegedly changed her story multiple times. First Torres reportedly told detectives that while bathing herself, Torres found an empty bottle of toilet bowl cleaner floating in the water when she went to check on Sierra. Torres initially said she believes her daughter may have drank the cleaning agent.

The second version of her story alleged that it was her boyfriend who was giving her daughter a bath as she made dinner. During this time, the door to the bathroom was reportedly closed. It was when she opened the door to the bathroom that she noticed Sierra was showing signs of chemical burns on her skin.

Sierra also reportedly showed signs of redness and bruising on her forehead. As KHOU 11 reports, Torres said she put her daughter to bed believing the 5-year-old would get better on her own.

Another story Torres allegedly told detectives was that her daughter “suffered for days with stomach complications.” But again, she didn’t call for help fearing CPS would get involved.

KHOU 11

According to KHOU 11, Torres was eventually charged with tampering with a corpse.

Torres ultimately admitted that her daughter’s body remained in the closet for six days after her passing on Tuesday, August 27. Torres said she wasn’t trying to hide her daughter’s body, but that “she didn’t want to let her go.”

Detectives hope Sierra’s autopsy will reveal some truth to what happened to her.

As of September 4, Torres remains in police custody with bail set at $50,000.

Put them both on death row, I think they will still have it to easy on most all waiting to be put to death, but how come the victims in most death row killings, didn’t get a chance? I feel if the darn government needs to start putting any one who chooses to die, let’s do it & on a case like hers, witch is 100% skip death row& take both, & just put them straight on table & give it to them. I think any person who has taken someone’s life & has been on death row more then 25 yrs is now costing all of the working class men & women $$$$ more than it should… Also chain them up & take away their dam TV put them lazy idiots to work, dig holes & the next day fill them up. Do something white these healthy people to good use. If others knew prison is not so great due to a new rule that you have no choice but to b up early worked hard, it may make the next one think twice before they go killing or auto theft, rape… Every single one of these lifers may think twice before committing a crime, no more its the easy way out.. I want to go on but no one reads these I’m sure.. Bitch shouldn’t get bail only death, like the daughter got a real nice choice, rotting in a closet, moms worried about cos not going to prison, boyfriend was where how is that, can’t hide that smell… There’s nothing they can do now, both should be put down. PERIOD, SEND OUT TO ANYONE THINKING THEY MIGHT COMIT A CRIME & IF THESE PEOPLE KNOW IF THEY KILL, THEN THEY TOO WILL BE PUT TO DEATH NOW NO DEATH ROW…. AN EYE FOR AN I IS HOW I THINK WE COULD SEE A DROP IN THAT AREA OF WHERE SOMEONE WAS KILLED, & KILLER IS CAUGHT HAD THERE 1 DAY IN COURT & FOUND GUILTY, Then with in 72 hours say good by.. If you are doing life, Hello here in the real world the cost of living has gone up more than most family’s are having a rough time, but not if you are doing time on a crime 10 yrs ago, they get to have dental work & TV’s some even find a man or women who will do anything for this person. Hell might even get to b on a tv show now.. I just see that we are so broke this dam state, well sure we are, helping others when we need to help the people go to death much faster & put the ball & chain job, make something they will start feeling some tired body’s, less fights would be a good thing… This just makes me mad…

They need to increment the bail,or no bail, for this people .Sierra is not the first case of a child abuse,
It is an everyday thing,it is not normal, its very evil, something needs to be done,as an example,so there will not be another child, tomorrow going through this.

Why is he bathing a 5 yro.. All 6 of my girls bath by them selfs with me cking on them during that time. Only thing we helped with if they weren’t showering was washing their hair..
The is he said she said..but now a sweet baby had to suffer n die in a closet..
The mom not taking this baby to the ER all because of CPS might get involved. Well yes they will. But the life of ur child takes priority over anything else..
So yes mom’s on the line for this. The boyfriend idk. But i do know he shouldn’t have been given that baby a bath an with the door closed.. Makes u want to think wth was going on.
But the autopsy will tell the truth. Then we can go from there..
