Emily Wade

Emily Wade is the kind of person who would move to be closer to her mom and her daughter’s father. That’s why her family is certain something is wrong.

As Fox 4 News reports, the 38-year-old mom recently moved to Ennis, Texas and moved in with her mother. Emily’s mom, Shirley Wade, had recently gone through surgery, and her daughter’s father, Jared Jones, lives in Ennis too.

Jones told Fox 4 that Emily was happy in her new life and they were all getting along well:

“Everything has been just copacetic and beautiful. It’s nothing she would run away from.”

However, Emily disappeared nearly two weeks ago, and no one knows where she might be.

On January 5, Emily told her mother that she was going to a co-worker’s house for pizza and a movie. That was around 5:30 p.m. According to WFAA, a friend says Emily left the get-together and drove away at about 8:30 p.m. That’s the last time anyone reports seeing Emily.

I just posted the missing flyer to every local group I’m a member of on Facebook. For those who are members of Buy, Sell or Trade groups surrounding cities outside Ennis please do the same…

When her daughter didn’t come home that night, Shirley started to worry. When Emily wasn’t back to get ready for her shift the next day at Chili’s, Shirley was sure something was wrong. She told Fox 4:

“This is the worst nightmare a mother could ever go through … not knowing anything. She said she’d be gone a couple hours and I believed her. And I still believe she was planning on coming on home.”

Emily’s debit card hasn’t been used since that day. Her phone is off, and she hasn’t posted on social media or made contact with her family. Police have searched the different routes she might have taken that night, but haven’t found any clue to her whereabouts.

Shirley told CBS DFW that she’s praying for Emily’s safety because “Emily would never stay away. She wouldn’t do it to me, her brother, her daughter. If she could get to a phone, she would, and that’s what scares me the most.”

Jones told NBC News that he has been cooperating with the police. As Emily’s ex, he wasn’t surprised to be a part of the investigation when she disappeared:

“They want to know about where I was Saturday night of course. I expected that, and I have no problem cooperating in any way, polygraph, whatever you need. I just want her home.”

He added that Emily’s disappearance has been especially hard on their 7-year-old daughter, who keeps asking if her mother will be found: “I can see the pain in my daughter’s eyes. She tries to stay strong, but I know it’s gotta be eating away at her as well.”

Police have cleared Jones, Shirley, and Emily’s co-worker as persons of interest in Emily’s disappearance. Now, both the family and investigators are asking the public for help finding the missing mom. Jones told CBS, “We just need to know something, so we need to know where to begin.”

Emily is approximately 5-foot-6 and 140 pounds. She has blonde hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a peach sweater, and sneakers with a peach stripe. She was driving a silver 2012 Nissan Altima with a broken front bumper and Kentucky license plates.

Shirley told NBC that she’s terrified that she won’t see her daughter alive again. She knows that Emily wouldn’t run off or stay away from her family: “If she was able to crawl to me and her daughter, she would do it.”

The police should be trying to look at all cameras (private and business) in the areas and try to trace her steps and make a timeline. Get the Texas Rangers involved. I can’t imagine the sheer terror of trying to find my missing daughter.
My thoughts and prayers go to this family and Emily that she will be found alive.
