A mother was in shock when she bought her 2-year-old daughter a talking doll that she expected to say “mama” or “papa” and instead, it called her a “b****.”

According to The Sun, Siobhan Fox, 30, a mom from England, bought the “My Little BABY Born Walks” doll at a U.K. Toys ‘R’ Us store. She said that she and her husband, Daniel, gave the doll to their daughter for Christmas, but had to take it away from her shortly afterward.

Fox told The Sun:

“It’s meant to say ‘mama,’ ‘dada’ — it’s totally not. That was what she really wanted and I felt so awful taking it off her, but I could not let her go out in public with the doll saying that.”

According to The Sun, the doll was made by Zapf Creation, a German toy company. The Toys ‘R’ Us store she bought it from offered a refund for the doll, but Fox wants the company to recall the dolls.

Fox was told that the expletive-laced recording was not intentional, and could be attributed to low batteries or the doll’s American accent. Fox refuted the former possibility, saying that the batteries were new.

Zapf Creations released this statement about the doll, The Sun reports:

At Zapf Creation we take all feedback very seriously. Our BABY born products are created to be a fun introduction to imaginative parent-child play. The My Little BABY born Walks doll includes baby babble sounds that are in no way meant to represent language or cause any offense to users.

However, this isn’t the first time a “My Little BABY Born Walks” doll has called her new owners, “you b****.” The Birmingham Mail reported that Rachael Horton bought her 2-year-old daughter the doll for her birthday in 2017.

Horton said:

“When we took the doll out of the box and started playing with it, I couldn’t believe what we heard. Now my 2 year old is copying her and trying to say ‘b****’ herself. I’m shocked, especially as it’s very clear what the doll is saying.”

It will be interesting to see how Fox’s efforts to have the doll recalled will play out. Until then, hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husbands, because this is one doll that clearly has an attitude problem.
