Atlanta mom Isabel Martinez called 911 for help early in the morning on July 6.
As WSB-TV reports, police found the dead bodies of 10-year-old Isabela Martinez, seven-year-old Dacota Romero, four-year-old Dillan Romero, and two-year-old Axel Romero. Her husband, 33-year-old Martin Romero was also murdered inside the home.Screenshot/GoFundMe
Only one child survived the apparent stabbing spree: nine-year-old Diana Romero. She is currently at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in serious, but stable, condition.
According to CNN, police said of the crime:
“This is a horrendous crime not only for the victims but for the extended family, neighborhood and community. We are hoping and praying that the remaining victim survives.”

What’s worse, is the accused murderer is Isabel Martinez, mother to the four slaughtered children and wife to Martin.
The family moved to the neighborhood where the slaughter took place just three or four months ago. While police won’t discuss the woman’s motive for the attack on her own family, Isabel’s new neighbors think the recent death of her father may have set her off.

However, another neighbor, Letty Perez, told WGCL that Isabel’s dad’s death upset her, but she still seemed like a good mom:
“She says her dad passed away months ago. I think she was in a depression. You can tell when somebody doesn’t like their kids. They will scream or yell but she wasn’t like that. She was a nice mom.”
The mother was charged with 10 counts of felony murder and six felony counts of aggravated assault for the horrific stabbing of her children and husband.

Isabel’s strange behavior didn’t end there. WSB-TV reports that the woman appeared to bow in court, announcing she will represent herself in court and adding that her “attorney is the people we are fighting for.”

The mother is currently in the Gwinnett County Jail, being held without bond for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.
