Miranda Lambert is loving her new life as a wife and a stepmom.
In an interview with Extra, Lambert surprisingly opened up about her marriage to young New York City police officer Brendan McLoughlin and what it’s like being a stepmom to his baby boy.
As Dearly previously reported, Lambert and Mcloughlin got married on January 26 in a secret ceremony.
Nearly a month after becoming husband and wife, Lambert shared the news with her fans on her Instagram account. However, after that, Lambert has been fairly tight-lipped about their relationship in every sense.
At one point the country music star told the world that it “should mind their own f**king business” when it came to inquiries surrounding their love story.
However, it now seems Lambert is ready to share more about her and McLoughlin’s life together with her fans.
Seven months ago, McLoughlin and his ex-fiancé welcomed a baby boy into the world. Lambert said the pair loves getting to spend time with their “adorable nugget.” She said in her interview with Extra:
“We have the best of both worlds. We spend time in New York, we get to see our adorable nugget, then we get to come back to the farm and have the quiet life. I’m enjoying the balance.”
And it’s very clear that Lambert, who doesn’t have any children of her own, loves being a stepmom.
The stepmom continued:
“My stepson is amazing. I’m loving that whole phase, and I’ve raised a million dogs, so I feel like I’ve got that part of my womanly/motherly thing is full, so this is a whole new journey. It’s great.”
The singer joked about her new husband:
“He’s a great guy and, bless his heart, he didn’t have any dogs or any animals at all when he came into this relationship, so he inherited a whole barn full… Marching with us today, he knows how important that is to me. He lives with a crazy dog lady. […]
I was like ‘Hey, I got the dogs, you got the kid, we can mix and mingle.'”
The couple made their first official red carpet appearance earlier this year at the ACM Awards in April.

It appears as though the couple, despite on-off appearances like award shows and supporting her foundation, MuttNation, will continue keeping their life together as private as possible.
