Two days after Valentine’s Day, country music superstar Miranda Lambert shocked her fans by letting them know she’s a married woman.
As Dearly previously reported, according to her Instagram post, Lambert met “the one” in New York City police officer Brendan McLoughlin:
In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched! My heart is full. Thank you Brendan Mcloughlin for loving me for…. me.
The announcement brought both congratulatory messages and criticism from fans.
Some were very excited for Lambert to have found love again, four years after her divorce from fellow singer Blake Shelton.
However, others scoffed at the couple’s relationship. The pair reportedly met in November 2018 while Lambert was performing in NYC.
Lambert hasn’t said much about her new husband since introducing him on social media.
That all changed when paparazzi spotted Lambert and McLoughlin arriving back in NYC after spending a weekend in Nashville.
In a video obtained by Inside Edition, a woman is heard asking the newly betrothed couple, “How is marriage for you guys?”
Lambert responded by saying:
“If I say something, will you leave, please? Like, the world should mind their own f**king business.”
Both Lambert and McLoughlin were seen wearing rings on that respective finger.
A source told People that Lambert, 35, and McLoughlin, 27, have been married since January 26, 2019.
McLoughlin also reportedly has a lot of similarities with Lambert’s father, who was also a police officer in Dallas:
“If you know Miranda’s dad and his background, you can guess why she’d easily connect with Brendan.”
According to previous reports, McLoughlin is the father of a 3-month-old baby boy from a previous relationship and has also allegedly been engaged once before.
Lambert didn’t say much more on camera.
