At the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, teen sensation Miley Cyrus completed her transformation from country girl to wild child with a single performance.

The “Party in the U.S.A.” singer twerked her way to infamy alongside Robin Thicke for an unforgettable performance of “Blurred Lines” that went viral on social media.

The popstar’s “crotch grabbing” and energetic twerking grabbed attention across the the country and made it clear that Miley was running far away from her a pristine Disney star image.

Following her infamous VMA performance, Miley continued to play up her wild side — and it worked. Her 2013 album “Bangerz,” released months after her jaw-dropping performance, went platinum.

But now it seems that the wild child is trying to reel in her bad-girl reputation.

For starters, the 24-year-old has reconciled with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, actor Liam Hemsworth. The pair now seem closer than ever and are very public about their happy relationship:

And according to the New York Daily News, Miley apologized to her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, for that head-turning 2013 VMA performance before she took the stage for the 2017 VMAs on Sunday.

The popstar wrote on Twitter:

“Sorry dad…I’ll be good tonight I promise.”

And when she took the stage to perform her latest single, “Younger Now,” at Sunday’s awards show, it appeared as if the crowed was in for a much more toned-down version of the boisterous songstress.

Miley channeled a classic 1950s vibe on stage in a hot pink romper and curly up-do as she belted out her latest hit, which seems to focus on “change” and getting older.

So it made sense that she recruited some older dancers to join her on stage for the performance.

But fans didn’t expect one particularly PG-13 moment between Miley and one of the elderly women.

As Miley sang the line “what goes up must come down,” she seemed to let old Miley shine through and grabbed one of the dancer’s breasts:

The moment was quick but still left many fans scratching their heads:

Looks like Miley’s bad girl side isn’t going anywhere soon.
