Country singer Jana Kramer and her husband NFL player Mike Caussin have always been open and honest as they tackle some major problems in their relationship as a couple.
Yet as they work hard to repair their marriage after Caussin’s infidelity, a comment about his deal breakers raised a few eyebrows and fans are relentlessly condemning the Washington Redskins player for his controversial statement.
As reported by Dearly, the 32-year-old admitted to struggling with sex addiction in the past and cheating on his wife. But during the couple’s “Whine Down” podcast, Caussin told fans that he would kick his wife to the curb if she ever had an affair.
As reported by Us Weekly, his comments left Kramer puzzled when he said he would leave her if she was unfaithful. She told the outlet:
“I am still scratching my head about that, too, because it feels very one-sided to me, and it honestly kind of hurts my feelings that he wouldn’t stand by me if I did that.”
“And I think that’s what hurts me — knowing no matter the work we’ve done or not that you wouldn’t stand by me.”

Today’s whine day is one for the books. We got to talk to Jason and Shelley Martinkus who wrote “worthy of her trust”. This was one of the most raw and authentic conversations we have had and so many of you have asked , how can you trust again? How does my spouse lead with empathy? If you have ever dealt with any kind of infidelity please give this one a listen as I truly think it’ll help you just like it has us. #lovewins #daretolove
On Monday Caussin attempted to explain his point after he got some major heat from his deal breaker comment. One fan wrote in the comment section of Kramer’s Instagram post:
He screwed up and you stood by him. Living with zero grace or an inch to fail is miserable on my opinion.
Caussin was asked “‘What’s your deal breaker'” on the pair’s show. He clarified his comment by stating:
“The first thought that came to my mind was, ‘I don’t really have one. I don’t know.’ But, I was like, ‘I can’t give the audience that answer. Let me say something that can kind of strike up a conversation.”
“I explained to Jana, I was like, ‘Look: The reason I said the infidelity piece or you cheating on me isn’t because if you did it, I wouldn’t try in our relationship. Obviously, I would, with all the things and pain that I’ve put you through. There’s no way I would just walk out.”
The NFL player said the only thing that would lead him to question their relationship is if his wife cheated on him. Caussin added:
“That would be the only thing, literally, the only thing. I don’t know what else, because of all that work we do. I don’t know what else could honestly make me question our relationship. But because of all we’ve been through, it just makes me think, ‘OK, that would be the one thing.’ I’d be like, ‘Damn, this sucks but let’s figure this out. But I’ll still have those feelings of, ‘Can we make this work?’”
The couple celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in May a year after Caussin relapsed from his sex addiction.
