Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner rose to fame on FYI’s “Married at First Sight.” Their unusual meeting worked out well — the two fell in love and have stayed together since their televised vow ceremony in 2014.

About a year ago, the pair decided to try to start a family. Unfortunately, only four months into their pregnancy, they shared devastating news — Otis had a miscarriage.

A short statement on Instagram broke the news:

An angel opened up the book of life and wrote down my baby’s birth. Then she whispered as she closed the book. ‘He’s too beautiful for Earth.’

Almost a year later, the couple was ready to try again, and this time, they have reason to celebrate.

Back in April, the couple exclusively told People it was expecting a baby girl.

The now-31-year-old mother-to-be was shocked and thrilled that she was entering a healthy pregnancy. She added how excited she was to have a daughter, hoping to foster a relationship she lacked growing up:

“I’ve always wanted to have that mother-daughter relationship that I kind of missed out on with my mom. I secretly hoped to be a mommy to a little girl and to have a little mini me.”

Don’t think daddy-to-be wasn’t over the moon, though. He added his anticipation for the “special” bond that exists between a father and his daughter:

“Every one of my guy friends say there is this unexplained special bond that happens with a daughter. They don’t know what it is, but it’s an amazing feeling, and I cannot wait.”

As they near the final weeks of the pregnancy, the happy couple took to Facebook Live to announce the name of their newest family member: Henley Grace.

And the name comes with an awkward and cute origin story. According to People, Otis revealed that the reality stars were leaning toward the name “Henley” due to a mistake that kept popping up. She explained:

“When Doug and I first got married — we were married at first sight, so we didn’t obviously know each other very well — and the first morning, we wake up and he goes, ‘You’re Jamie Nicole Otis, and I’m … ‘Douglas Edward Henley?’”

Otis had mistakenly kept calling her new beau Hehner “Henley,” which made for a recurring joke between the love birds:

“After we fell in love, we would laugh about it all the time. He’d always pick on me that he knew my whole name, but I couldn’t remember his.”

Through all that humor and love, the happy pair was able to make some new memories and a new life, too.
