NFL star Marquise Goodwin and his wife, former University of Texas track star Morgan Goodwin-Snow, have suffered another heart-wrenching loss.

The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver explained that he’s played with a heavy heart for the last two seasons. ESPN reports, Marquise missed two games during the season.

Wednesday he revealed that he and his wife lost their twins due to pregnancy complications just a year after the couple’s baby boy was stillborn.

After the Goodwins’ devastating loss in November 2017, they shared their story on Instagram with a picture of a little baby’s hand holding a finger.

On November 12, 2017, the receiver described his wife’s experience giving birth to a boy prematurely after carrying the baby through a difficult pregnancy.

Unfortunately “due to complications” in the early hours before his team’s game against the New York Giants, the couple lost the child.

He wrote:

Although we are hurt, I am grateful for the experience and grateful that God blessed me with a wife as courageous and resilient as Morgan.

This week Marquise, 28, and his wife, 25, announced on their Youtube channel that they were suffering through more loss.

In the clip, Morgan explained that she was expecting twins but concealed the baby news because of previous experience. She said:

“I was afraid of another loss, so I was gonna hold out until I reached a certain point to where I really couldn’t hide it anymore.”

Problems arising from preterm labor led to losing both of the babies. At the time of the twins’ death, Marquise missed two games in November but did not disclose the reasons to the public until now.

Morgan said in the video, hours before the tragedy, her water broke and the complications arose. She said in the video:

“We knew that this was a possibility, obviously, because they’re sticking me with stuff in my stomach underneath anesthesia.

So that happened in November, which is why [Goodwin] missed two games and we’re trying to make it, praying and going through that. But we’re just taking it day by day.”

She added:

“I finally had the courage to open up and talk about it.”

The Goodwins included the gender-reveal of their twins in the video describing the couple’s story of loss.

I too am a lifelong 49er fan. My heart goes out to Morgan Goodwin and his wife. A friend of mine and her husband had 6 miscarriages before they realized he was missing a chromosome. Then they were able to have 6 kids! Keep dreaming.

Although I am a die hard Cowboys fan it doesn’t matter, because when someone loses their precious baby or babies it’s so heart wrenching. I pray for the Goodwins that God will give them the comfort and strength during this very painful time of loss.
