Marie Osmond is reaching out to fans for support after revealing her newborn granddaughter was taken to the children’s intensive care unit.

Osmond’s daughter, 21-year-old Brianna Blosil Schwep, welcomed a baby girl on May 23 with her husband, 42-year-old Dave Schwep. That means she arrived ten days late, according to their baby registry.

On Thursday, the singer revealed the news on Twitter that the child had been taken to the ICU.

She wrote:

Asking for prayers for my precious granddaughter born this evening 6lbs 10 ounces. So thankful she was able to be taken to children’s ICU in one of our amazing @CMNHospitals #gratitude that she is in their care!

Osmond didn’t clarify why the baby girl was taken to the ICU but got plenty of support from her fans on social media.

Many sent loving messages to the famed songstress.

One Twitter user wrote:

Congrats again on welcoming another grand baby  #anothergirl Sending my love to the new parents & whole family. I pray she gets better and can leave ICU soon Thinking of u all right now.

According to People, Osmond’s daughter tied the knot to her husband in December and they announced the pregnancy a few months later.

Though the family is going through a difficult time, it seems they have plenty of support behind them.
