Dayna Mager isn’t afraid to admit that being a mom is exhausting, but her daughter, Luella, is the most beautiful and important thing in her life.

And the mom-of-one remembers the moment she promised Luella that she “would always come to her.”

This was from several weeks back, yes, I climbed in the crib in hopes to soothe my screaming, teething, blushed faced,…

It was the first time Dayna and her husband left their baby girl to go to a worship concert. The story a missionary shared at the concert, “shook her to her core.” Dayna recalls the story:

“That missionary was in an orphanage in Uganda, and he has been in many before, but this one was different. He walked into a nursery with over 100 filled cribs with babes. He listened in amazement and wonder as the only sound he could hear was silence. A sound that is beyond rare in ANY nursery, let alone a nursery where over 100 new babes laid.”

The missionary asked his host how it was possible for a nursery to be so silent.

She replied:

“After about a week of them being here, and crying out for countless hours, they eventually stop when they realize no one is coming for them.”

The story broke Dayna’s heart into a million pieces, but it also made her appreciate the 2:00 a.m. moments when her little girl lets out a cry because she knows her mama will always come to her.
